- Why are some of the questions so hard!?
Pundit Politics’ Political IQ tests are designed so that even the most informed pundit will be challenged. However, we take this difficulty into account when your test is scored. Even if you answer just half of the questions correctly, you have done quite well. A perfect score is quite rare, especially on the expert tests.
- What if I think a question is irrelevant or does not offer the correct answer?
We welcome user feedback at Pundit Politics because we understand that we can make mistakes. Please
submit feedback to us, and we will try and respond as soon as possible.
- Some of these questions are really specific and/or borderline esoteric. How do the answers to these questions demonstrate a broad understanding of a particular political topic? Why are they included?
One can argue that certain facts - for example, the exact number of U.S. casualties incurred up to this point in the Iraq War - are not necessarily critical to a comprehensive or expert understanding of the Iraq War. However, at Pundit Politics we construct our Political IQ tests in such a way so as to include enough questions on a range of relevant facts that only a true Iraq War political guru would find the test to be easy. Of course, your Political IQ score for any given subject is only a general measure of your informedness on that subject, as opposed to a definitive measure.
- What does my Political IQ score actually mean?
Your Political IQ score for any of Pundit Politics’ Political IQ tests is simply a general estimate of how much relevant and essential knowledge you possess in that subject relative to the average Pundit Politics test-taker. Unfortunately, due to sampling bias and other expirimental problems, Pundit Politics recognizes that one’s Politlcal IQ results do not meet rigorous scientific standards, and are merely a casual measure. That said, Pundit Politics does distribute Political IQ scores on a normal curve, as well as takes steps to remove erroneous data, so at least the Pundit Politics test-taker can acquire a general sense of thier relative performace compared to others.
Pundit Politics’ offers Political IQ tests on a wide variety of political issues, allowing you to discover your Political IQ for that political subject. But, for a measure of your overall Political IQ, try our Ulimate Political IQ Test. - Politics and political debate is about opinions. How can Pundit Politics score users on their political opinions?
Pundit Politics advances the idea that political beliefs and opinions should always be formed in conjunction with a foundation of relevant facts. Thus, Pundit Politics does not test users on their political opinions, but rather on the strength of the factual foundation that supports their opinion.
