HANNITY’S ORIGINS AND PERSONAL LIFE
Sean Hannity was originally from New York City, New York. His parents were Lilian (Flynn) and Hugh Hannity while his grandparents were descendants of Irish people. He spent his childhood in Franklin Square, New York with his parents and two sisters. He went to Sacred Heart Seminary and St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary. Hannity also attended New York University and Adelphi University but he dropped out eventually.
In 1993, he married his wife, Jill Hannity and bore two children with her, Patrick and Merri Kelly.
Hannity’s first radio hosting stint was during the time that he volunteered at KCSB-FM of UC Santa Barbara. However, he was subsequently dismissed by the station’s managers. When the position was offered to him again, Hannity opted to decline the offer.
Afterwards, Hannity came to work for WVNN in Athens, Alabama then for WGST in Atlanta. In 1996, Hannity was hired by Fox News and he started co-hosting the show Hannity & Colmes together with Alan Colmes.
Since 2001, The Sean Hannity Show began airing nationally. It was followed by continuous extension to various networks.
Hannity also eventually left WGST and moved to WABC where he worked until 2013. When 2014 came, Hannity came working for WOR in New York City.
In his show Hannity & Colmes, Hannity’s commentaries mostly came from the conservative point of view while his partner, Colmes, presented comments based on the liberal side. From time to time, Hannity would have arguments with his guests some of which include Father Thomas J. Euteneur who argued with Hannity regarding his divergence from the Catholic Church.
Hannity started a new show called Hannity’s America which preceded the end of Hannity & Colmes. Hannity & Colmes was replaced with a show entitled Hannity.
In addition to his radio and television programs, Hannity also wrote the books Let Freedom Ring: Winning the War of Liberty over Liberalism; Deliver Us from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and Liberalism; and Conservative Victory: Defeating Obama’s Radical Agenda.
